COYNE EXPANDS FINISHING SERVICES WITH NEW ATTACHING SYSTEM

Advanced attaching capability allows Coyne to provide more seamless, comprehensive services to direct mail and packaging clients.

(Mount Vernon, OHIO) – Coyne Finishing Services (www.coynefinishing.com) announced today the addition of a new affixing/tipping system that significantly expands the range of attaching services it can offer clients.

The new system allows Coyne to attach a wide variety of cards and prepackaged samples onto various mailers and inserts. The affixing/tipping system, manufactured by Kirk-Rudy, Inc., is suitable for both short- and long-run jobs. It operates within tolerances of plus/minus 1/32 of an inch.

“We already have the high-die cutting capability to produce the cards,” according to Coyne General Manager Phil Schlaegel. “Now our clients don't have the hassle of going elsewhere to attach those cards.”

“The addition of this attaching system marks an important expansion of Coyne's services,” Schlaegel added. “It helps streamline the entire finishing process by allowing Coyne to do the attaching as well as die cutting, lamination or any of the other services we provide.

The system uses quick-setting hot-melt adhesives to attach cards and other items to the printed piece. According to Schlaegel, the system is capable of producing from 6,500 to 9,500 finished pieces per hour, depending on the size of the piece and the object being attached. It can also attach objects other than printed cards, including coins, keys and sample packets. “As long as it can be held by 'booger glue,' this system can attach it,” Schlaegel confirmed.

“By being able to find more of the finishing services they need under one roof, our clients can save time and usually money, Schlaegel added.” Clients also have more control over the entire finishing process by having one source accountable—so there's no 'passing the buck' between service suppliers.

“Single-source accountability is a great advantage to the client,” Schlaegel said. “One source over multiple finishing steps means more client convenience and better control over cost and quality.”
