Layout is key: The layout of the folding / gluing project plays a major role in its success. Choices need to be made at this stage as to the type of pockets for folders: gusset, straight or diagonal. Most pieces that will be folded and glued will be die-cut first. Therefore, the layout for the piece should be created to accommodate efficient die cutting. Remove Inks and Coatings: Whenever possible, strip inks and coatings short of any surfaces that will receive glue. (This includes glue flaps on pocket folders.) It is important to keep in mind that this may include two surface sides. In that case, all inks and coatings may need to be removed from both sides of the stock.
