Improve Product Durability with Film Lamination

Products such as point-of-purchase displays and Wire-O books have to do two things: Look great and withstand regular usage. Film lamination helps your products accomplish both. At Coyne Graphic Finishing, our standard and large-format capabilities enable film lamination to be performed on almost any project.
There are three main styles of film lamination available at Coyne:
In a single-sided laminating process, lamination is performed on only one side of the substrate. This offers ample surface protection for projects such as book covers and pocket folders, but less rigidity than other laminating styles.
Double-sided laminating can be performed one of two ways: Sealed edge or flush cut. Both styles apply laminate to both sides of the substrate, offering protection and rigidity. A flush-cut piece will have the edges trimmed, while a sealed piece will retain a laminate border on all sides. Sealed edge laminating is preferable for applications where protection from moisture or weather is necessary, such as menus or outdoor displays.
Film laminate is available in several different finishes to meet a variety of uses. Finishes include:
- Clear polyester, which is high-gloss, durable and offers the most scratch resistance;
- Satin polyester, which provides a medium-gloss finish with excellent color consistency; and
- Matte-finish polyester, which is low-gloss, durable and great for readability.
- Textured films are also available to lend projects a distinctive appearance and feel.
